The Office offers food, too
A new bar and grill has opened in east Kankakee, and for folks who find themselves bellied up to a bar a few minutes/hours/days longer than they’d planned, the name is an invitation for misleading excuses to the spouse. You know, something along the lines of, “I’m sorry, honey, but I’m still stuck at The Office!”
The Office, at 5986 E. Route 17, most recently was the Final Round. The remodeled interior looks more like a cabin than an office, though, with wood flooring, wood paneling and a wood bar. The menu includes appetizers, sandwiches and homemade pizza.
The Office opens at 11 a.m. seven days a week, and closes at midnight Sunday through Thursday and 2 a.m. on the weekends.
For those wondering about the fate of the baseball cards that covered the Plexiglass-topped bar of the former establishment, they’re still there, just covered.

The Burger was the ultimate, And their daily homade soup was nothing short of a gourmet. We will go out of our way for good food and a friendly atmosphere. Will be back!

I don’t really care for the bar atmosphere, but after stopping at the Office Pub for lunch with my husband, I felt very comfortable. The people and surroundings make you feel at home. It wasn’t your usual microwave bar food. Their cook makes everything from scratch. I would recommend to friends
