Apparently, BaconFest Chicago 2009 is in the planning stages, tentatively scheduled for sometime in October. The motto is “Celebrating bacon, one slice at a time.”
Personally, I’m not marking my calendar, as I think I’m one of the few people on the planet who doesn”t particularly like bacon. I make an exception for BLTs in the summer, when they’re made with fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes, but otherwise, if bacon or bacon fat is an ingredient in a dish, I generally dislike the flavor. That’s just not normal, I know.
