AleFest Chicago is Saturday

The third annual AleFest Chicago will be held Saturday at Soldier Field’s Stadium Green. The charitable eventĀ  showcases craft beer from around the world.

WHEN: 2 – 6 PM

WHERE: 1410 South Museum Campus Drive, Chicago, IL 60605

COST: $40 ($10 for designated drivers), which includes 20 samples, a commemorative glass and a tasting guide. Tickets are available online at alefest.ticketleap.com or at the gate. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild. You must be 21 or older to partake in the festivities, of course.

Here’s more information from the press release I received:

A beer enthusiast’s dream come true, Chicago’s AleFest features over 80 world-class breweries and over 200 of their creations, including a handful of which that are otherwise unavailable in the Windy City.

Among the many highlights at this year’s AleFest is “ReplicAle,” twelve very unique versions of a Belgian Witbier created by the members of the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild. For those interested in the science behind brewing, representatives from The Siebel Institute of Technology’s World Brewing Academy Master Brewer Program will be on hand to discuss the classes currently available at their Chicago campus. The event also features live entertainment by the Eric Jerardi Band, food concessions, beer memorabilia for sale, silent auction, and a raffle.

Not simply a really great time, this year’s event also serves as a benefit for the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild. The ICBG is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, development and expansion of the craft beer industry in Illinois.
