I'll be at the Farmers Market on Saturday
There will be a “Pro Chef Challenge” on Saturday at the Kankakee Farmers Market, and I get to be a judge!
The event begins at 8 a.m., when the competitors will select their ingredients from the various market vendors. Judging of the resulting dishes begins at 11 a.m.
I’ll be there with my mom, my brother Michael, and my sisters Stephanie and Cassie. They’re visiting from Minneapolis for the weekend, as Sunday is Grady’s baptism. If you see us, feel free to stop and say “hi”.
I have no doubt the food will be wonderful, but I hope it won’t bother Grady. He’ll get to enjoy the flavors a few hours later, and the little guy is prone to gas pains. I confess that being able to eat (and drink) again without worrying about how it might affect him is something I’m looking forward to!
