Salsa Fest is this weekend; competitors wanted
The competitive spirit is alive and well at the Kankakee Farmers Market. This weekend’s Salsa Fest is the latest in a string of cooking competitions, and this time the audience gets to do all the voting.
Here are details:
- Competitors will go to The Kohl Center in Kankakee at 6 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 28). They will prepare their salsa in the center’s commercial kitchen and store it in supplied packaging. Competitors should also bring their recipe with them to The Kohl Center.
- The public is invited to come to the market at 9 a.m. on Saturday to receive free samples of the salsa and vote on their favorite.
- The winner will be announced at 11:15 a.m.
