Oct. 24 is new date for Tailgate Challenge 2009 (with update)
I just received this information from the Kankakee Regional Chamber of Commerce:
“Tailgate Challenge 2009 has had a bit of a makeover this year. The original date of the annual grilling competition has been changed from Saturday, September 12th, to Saturday, October 24th. The name has also had a face lift! Please join us for this year’s BARBEQUE-U at Jimmy Jo’s BBQ in Bourbonnais! Amateurs and Pros are welcome to participate. Space is limited, so please register your grill team early by emailing Meghan Murphy. If you need further information, please call Meghan at (815) 933-7721.”
UPDATE ON SEPT. 22:
I received this yesterday (Sept. 21) from the Kankakee Regional Chamber:
“$200 will be awarded to judges’ choice winner and $100 to people’s choice winner. … Space is limited to 10 teams and we only have FOUR spots left, so register your grill team today! Questions? Visit our Barbeque-U website or contact Meghan Murphy at 815-933-7721.”
