If you don’t have plans for Christmas, here are a couple dining options:

* The Homestead (1230 S. East Ave.) in Kankakee will be open on Christmas Day from 1 to 7 p.m. Diners can choose from several daily specials or order from the regular menu or the children’s menu. Call (815) 933-6214 for a reservation. The Homestead will also be open Christmas Eve until 8 p.m.

* The Great American Grill inside Kankakee’s Hilton Garden Inn (455 Riverstone Parkway) is having a Christmas Day buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $20.95 for adults and $12.95 for children 12 and under. Children 4 and under are free. Call (815) 932-4444 for reservations.

* Tuscany Steak And Pasta House in Manteno will be offering Christmas Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The buffet-style meal costs $12.99 per person or $8.99 for kids 12 and under. Reservations are recommended; call (815) 468-9810.

* Family House Restaurant (312 S. Kennedy Dr.) in Bradley will be open their regular hours (6 a.m. to 9 p.m.) both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They don’t take reservations, so they ask that you be patient with your server if you are there at a busy time. Family House will also be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, too.

* The 15th annual Christmas Day Dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at eight locations throughout the county. There is no cost to the meal, which is catered by La Villetta restaurant. The intent is to bring together people who would otherwise spend the holiday alone, so carry-outs are not available. For locations and reservations, which are required by Dec. 23, call (815) 295-3804 Monday through Friday.
