A colleague of mine was in town from Minnesota a few weeks ago. I took him to VIPs in Bradley for breakfast, and he raved about the Denver omelet. “It was the best I’ve had in a month of Sundays,” he said.
When he wants coffee, I take him to Aava Java in Bourbonnais. He loves the coffee and also enjoys the pastries.
VIPs is at 505 N. Kinzie Ave. in Bradley, and also 715 W. Walnut St. in Watseka. Aava Java is at 163 E. Bethel Dr. in Bourbonnais.

A reader named Mary Lou sent me this: “Read your column yesterday & just wanted to let you know that the two VIP restaurants are not owned by the same people. The one in Bradley is owned by Peter & Joanne.
The one here in Watseka is owned by two other gentleman. Thought you would like to know.”
