This sounds like it will be a nice addition to our community, but I wonder how it will compare to Blue’s Cafe? Nothing can beat the friendly wait staff there! Looking forward to trying this new place though.

This is so exciting! I love “Toast” in Bucktown, and I am so thrilled to hear that Heather is opening a local restaurant modeled after their tradition! This area could use some healthy alternatives and originality in their restaurant choices. I can’t wait to see the finished product! Good luck

I completely agree with the previous comments about the general lack of originality and amount of duplication in our local restaurant scene. With that in mind, French Toast sounds interesting and will be a very welcome addition. I will certainly try it as soon as possible after it opens. I wish Ms. Lavine nothing but the best of luck in her new venture.

I can’t wait for this place to open! I am really looking forward to the omelets with crab and/or smoked salmon. It will be good to have some more interesting dishes than what are served at every other place around the area. Now I just have to find a way to get my mom there before my brother does, even though they go out to breakfast at least once most weeks.
