We ate late so we tried an appetizer sampler. I usually don't order Maryland Crab Cakes unless I am near salt water. I'm glad I ordered them even though I was a block from the fresh water Kankakee River! Very good stuff. We did not have a long wait. There was a decent crowd in the restaurant even at 8:30-9:00 P.M. The pizza is very good too. I hope Johnny Angel's sticks around for a long while. My wife and I ate there about a month ago. We ate late so we tried an appetizer sampler. After more than one hour and twenty minutes we walked out!!! We asked if there was a problem. None given. When told we would like to leave we were not offered a discount or even a simple apology. The same thing happened the first time but they had only been open a week so we decided to try again. We were watching other tables and if you ordered a pizza you were OK. I feel bad for the wait staff because they will have to be the ones to hear the complaints. The owners are good about floating around but none were there when we would have liked to talk to them. I hope the restaraunt makes it, Momence needs something like this. But if this continues it will be another empty building the city will have to deal with.
